Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 February 2026

This privacy policy explains how NetGuard ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle data.

We are a UK-based company and comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who We Are

Company: PremierVPN
Contact: info@vpnapps.net
Website: netguardapp.net

For the purposes of data protection law, PremierVPN is the data controller.

2. The NetGuard Application

NetGuard is a macOS desktop application that monitors VPN connections, IP addresses, and bandwidth on your local machine.

What the app does NOT do:

  • It does not collect or transmit your personal data to us or any third party
  • It does not track your browsing activity
  • It does not include analytics, telemetry, or advertising
  • It does not send any data to external servers for monitoring purposes

What the app does:

  • IP address lookup: The app makes requests to a public IP lookup service to display your current public IP address. No personal data is transmitted beyond the standard HTTP request.
  • Licence validation: The app periodically contacts our licence server to verify your licence status. This request includes your licence key and a hardware identifier. No browsing data or personal information is included.

All monitoring data (bandwidth stats, IP change logs, preferences) is stored locally on your Mac and never leaves your device.

3. Website Data Collection

When you submit our contact form, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • The subject and message you provide

This information is sent to us via email using Brevo (a transactional email service) and is used solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list or use this information for marketing unless you explicitly opt in.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest (responding to your enquiry).

When you purchase NetGuard, we collect:

  • Your name and email address
  • Your payment information (processed securely by our payment provider — we do not store card details)
  • A licence key associated with your purchase

Legal basis: Performance of a contract (fulfilling your purchase).

4. Cookies

Our website uses minimal or no cookies. We do not use analytics cookies, tracking cookies, or advertising cookies. If any session cookies are used for form functionality, they are strictly necessary and do not track you across websites.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Brevo: For sending transactional emails (contact form responses, licence delivery). Brevo Privacy Policy
  • Payment processor: For handling purchases securely. Card details are processed directly by the payment provider and are never stored on our servers.

6. Data Retention

  • Contact form submissions: We retain contact enquiries for up to 12 months, then delete them unless an ongoing support relationship exists.
  • Purchase and licence data: Retained for as long as your licence is active, plus 6 years for legal and accounting obligations.
  • Rate limiting data: Temporary IP hashes used for form spam prevention are deleted automatically within 1 hour.

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectify any inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten") where there is no compelling reason to continue processing
  • Restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used format
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@vpnapps.net. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Data Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure API communication, and restricted access to personal data.

9. Children

Our services are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete it.
